A Letter from Kelli Schulte
Since 1953, Franklin County Area United Way (FCAUW) has served as a non-profit organization committed to raising funds for local non-profits. When I was honored with the role of Executive Director last year, I recognized the significant legacy left by my predecessors—two outstanding Directors who came before me. This position carries immense responsibility, as it involves upholding over 70 years of dedication and tradition. The success of our organization today is a testament to the commitment of volunteers, donors, and staff who have contributed their time and effort.
Last year, we aimed to raise $1,270,000 in celebration of our 70th anniversary and sought your support to achieve this milestone. What unfolded exceeded all expectations. Not only did your collective generosity enable us to reach our goal, but we surpassed it, raising an impressive $1,420,000—a new record for us! This exceptional achievement allowed us to increase funding for our supported partners and programs for another year. Our community consistently demonstrates its solidarity and compassion, rallying together in times of need.
Each of us has our own motivations for wanting to assist others, whether through physical efforts or financial contributions. For some, it’s deeply personal. Others simply desire to witness positive transformations within their community. Personally, I believe in the power of one person to initiate a ripple effect of positivity that can touch many lives. I aspire to be that catalyst for positive change in someone else’s journey. Hopefully, this inspires them to pay it forward, becoming a spark for others and making a meaningful change possible. Whatever drives us individually, we are immensely thankful for the support of our community members.
When you contribute to FCAUW, you’re supporting initiatives that advocate for the elderly, feed the homeless, offer hope to the disabled, and foster the development of future leaders. As of 2024, we are currently providing financial assistance to 53 different partners and programs, benefiting over 63,000 residents of Franklin County. These individuals could be your family members, neighbors, colleagues, or friends.
The need within our community remains significant, which is why our goal for 2024 is set at $1,300,000. Once again, we are reaching out to our community members to join us in achieving this goal and supporting those in need, all while helping to make change possible in our own backyards.
What drives our ongoing success? It’s the remarkable community that we call home and work alongside! Our community members enthusiastically invest their time and resources in causes that hold personal significance and benefit others. Donating to FCAUW is a meaningful way to create a positive impact. We encourage you to participate in any capacity you can in our upcoming campaign this year, starting on September 3rd and concluding on October 31st. We are looking forward to the positive change that we know is possible with our community by our sides.
